New seaside hotels to stay at
Check out Thomas Cook’s new Casa Cook Ibiza hotel, near San Antonio. You can stay there from July, in rooms with interiors inspired by world travels. Casa Cook Ibiza (pictured) is focused on wellness and authentic cuisine, while DJ sessions set the chilled out vibe. Fly there from London Stansted.
Another new hotel is the just-built Casa Cook Chania in Crete designed with families in mind. Get there from Gatwick and unwind at this modern village-style hotel.
Set sail to explore new shores
Ask Virgin Holidays in Debenhams about Virgin Voyages’ very first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady. This is not the usual ‘cruise’ but more an adult-only ‘voyage of discovery’ travelling from Miami to the Caribbean, via the colourful island of Cuba. Also hot on the agenda is a visit to the beautiful island of Bimini in the Bahamas where your day is flourished from water-sports to bonfires under the stars at The Beach Club. The Scarlet Lady sets sail from April 2020 onwards.
Visit Malta for city and beach
Valletta is Malta’s capital city and a World Heritage City located on a peninsula between two natural harbours in the Mediterranean. It’s a fortified city with 320 historic monuments to see and is filled with narrow streets and beautiful gardens. From here, you can explore the island of Malta too, which boasts sandy beaches and azure waters. Come and talk to our travel agents at Thomas Cook to find the best deal on flights and accommodation.
Cape Town in low season
It does cool down in Cape Town in May, June, July and August but this is when you can get cheaper flights and accommodation specials. Book a trip with Virgin Holidays (the Vineyard Hotel is pictured) and you’ll be looking forward to Table Mountain hikes, beachside restaurant meals, whale watching and more. Plus, it’s only two hours ahead of GMT, so no jet-lag.
Visit the Kent coast
If you stay at the Travelodge at Westwood Cross, you’ll be a stone’s throw from many picturesque tourist attractions in Kent. Margate, Broadstairs (Botany Bay is pictured) and Ramsgate are only 75 minutes from central London by train, where you can surf off the beaches. Whitstable is an artsy place not far away (this year’s Oyster Festival is from 27th-29th July), and inland Canterbury is full of historical attractions. Westwood Cross itself is based in Thanet – check out what there is to do in the area here.
